Development in the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN) carries the concept of Future Smart Forest City. Where the buildings there will later use biomimicry architectural design.
Biomimicry is the concept of building architecture made in harmony and integrated with nature using the workings of tropical forests.
Previously, it has been said that the development in IKN Nusantara will apply the archipelago and tropical concepts, using biomimicry architecture.
Then what does the biomimicry concept look like?
Through the official Instagram account of the Ministry of PUPR, Sunday (2/4/2023), an illustration of the biomimicry concept that will be applied at IKN Nusantara is shown.
In the illustration, the building architecture at IKN Nusantara will be made to resemble the structure of a tropical forest.
The upper floor is like the emergent or uppermost layer in a tropical forest, a zone of high density and diversity.
Then the lower floor canopy part whose roof surface is covered with vegetation, just like the tropical forest canopy layer whose plants overlap.
The leaves are attached to tall tree trunks. The lower floor is the bottom layer of the canopy that connects the buildings.
The ground floor is like a shady and porous forest floor, and the supporting roots are an efficient infrastructure.
